The Education Opportunities Act (see below) restricts tuition grants to Iowa students living in households with income that does not exceed an amount equal to three times the federal poverty guideline for their family size. (Income as reported on Line 22 of the 2009 Federal Income Tax Form 1040, Line 15 of 1040A, or Line 4 of Form 1040EZ.) A School Tuition Organization may then set additional eligibility requirements.
You are eligible for Iowa School Tuition Organization (STO) funds if your income (Line 22 of the 2008 IRS Form 1040 or Line 15 of 1040A) does not exceed three times the poverty rate.

How Do I Apply?
All families who wish to be considered for the School Tuition Organization of Southeast Iowa grants MUST complete the confidential financial aid application. The financial aid application will be available through each school’s business/school office in early February 2010. Applications must be completed and submitted no later than April 15, 2010. Assistance in completing the application is offered by your participating school.
Schools will be notified of STO grants in May 2010.
